Clean Truck Check Program – California’s Heavy-Duty Emissions Compliance Initiative
The Clean Truck Check Program—formerly known as the Heavy-Duty Inspection and Maintenance (HD I/M) Program—is a state-mandated effort by CARB (California Air Resources Board) to reduce harmful emissions from heavy-duty vehicles. It now applies to all qualifying trucks, buses, and motorhomes operating in California, even if they are registered out of state. If your vehicle operates in California and is classified as heavy-duty with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) over 14,000 pounds, the Clean Truck Check program applies to you.
